Administrative History | Opened in 1791 at High Street by the Wesleyan Methodists. Rebuilt in 1868. Closed in 1976.
The church began to use the premises of the Tarporley Baptist church from 1976, when after a bad storm there were problems with the roof of the Methodist Church. The Methodist church (further up the High St from the Baptist church) was eventually sold, demolished and became retail space. The Methodist service was then held in the evening at the Baptist church. Separate Baptist and Methodist services continued for some years. A sharing agreement was in place from c1979. Joint services began from around 1988. |
